About GHK-CU

GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper(II)) is a naturally occurring tripeptide-copper complex first isolated from human plasma albumin. The histidine imidazole nitrogen, the glycine α-amino group, and the glycine carbonyl oxygen coordinate to the Cu²⁺ ion in a square-planar geometry, creating a stable chelate with a dissociation constant in the femtomolar range. This copper-binding tripeptide is found in various human tissues and exhibits affinity for heparan sulfate proteoglycans in the extracellular matrix.

In laboratory research settings, GHK-Cu has been investigated for its effects on fibroblast gene expression profiles, collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis characterization in cell culture models, and antioxidant enzyme upregulation via Nrf2 pathway activation. Research interest also encompasses its role as a copper transport peptide and its effects on matrix metalloproteinase expression, extracellular matrix remodeling dynamics, and neurotrophin signaling pathways in in vitro models. All laboratory applications are for research purposes only.

Lyophilized Research Peptides

This product is supplied in lyophilized (freeze-dried) form — a process that extends shelf life and preserves peptide purity and structural integrity during storage. No fillers, excipients, or preservatives are used in the lyophilization process. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted with an appropriate research-grade solvent in a controlled laboratory environment prior to use in in vitro or preclinical assay systems.
